"Sprig of Flowering Almond in a Glass"
"Sprig of Flowering Almond in a Glass" - 1888 - Vincent van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who is one of the most famous and influential figures in Western art history.
In just over a decade, he created approximately 2,100 works of art, including approximately 860 oil paintings, most of them in the last two years of his life.
These works, which include landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits, are characterized by bold, symbolic colors and dramatic, impulsive and highly expressive brushwork that contribute to the foundations of modern art.
Van Gogh painted the painting "Sprig of Flowering Almond in a Glass" in Arles, France, in 1888.
The painting, an oil on canvas, is currently housed in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
